Adoption process

We evaluate each potential family who wishes to adopt one of our puppies. Adopters are invited to our facilities for a face to face meeting and evaluation. Our process of selection is important as we invest a lot of time and energy into breeding healthy, high quality puppies.

For us it is important to know the adoptive parents of our litters of puppies and make sure they are going to a good and loving home, as well as make sure they are informed of their parental responsibilities and answer any questions they may have.

Cost of Adoption

Our Gordon Setter puppies are $1800.00. There is a $400.00 deposit required to reserve a puppy. The final payment of $1400.00 is due on pickup of your new family member. Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppies are $3000.00. There is a $700.00 deposit required to reserve a puppy. The final payment of $2300 is due upon pickup.

Initial reservations deposits can be made in cash or interac e-transfer. We have often been asked why the price differentiation between the 2 breeds. The answer is both demand and litter size. From our experience Gordon Setter litters are typically twice the size of our Cavaliers, averaging 6-8 puppies versus 1-6.

From 8 – 16 weeks these are the additional costs: Rabies Vaccination $60, International Health Certificate $100, Crate $120+, Food (per month) $40, Training (per month) $150, Transportation to airport $75. US Customers are more than welcome to come pick up their puppy after 12 weeks As long as you have a valid Rabies Certificate there should be no problems driving or flying with your puppy cross border.

Elevage Marie-Phil is only required to provide a Canadian Certificate Of Registration from the CKC or AKC (Canadian/American Kennel Club) to the new owner once the puppy/adult is registered in Canada or the US. Any additional paperwork needed, such as 3 or 4 generation pedigree, etc., will be the responsibility of the new owner to acquire. The new owner will need to contact their own country’s Kennel Club to request the information needed to register the dog in that country.

International travel to countries other than the United States – Please contact your government agency to find out all the requirements for importing a dog prior to importation. There may be documents you have to obtain prior to receiving your dog. Typically clients have needed 4+ weeks to organize paperwork on their end. All fees incurred on our end prior to shipping will be added to the cost of the dog.
